Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign up via a license lookup, we associate your account with publicly available WA L&I contractor data.
License and CE Data
We store the license information, CE hour entries, and category progress you enter into the Service. This data is used solely to provide tracking and reminder features.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and timestamps to improve the Service. We use HubSpot to collect analytics data including pages visited, session duration, and feature usage. HubSpot may set cookies on your device to track visits across sessions. 2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To send license renewal reminders and CE deadline notifications
- To sync your license status with WA L&I public data
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
- To send important account and service-related communications
- To respond to your support requests
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Payment processing: Billing information is shared with Stripe to process payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Email delivery: Reminder and notification emails are sent via Resend. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics: Usage data and page views are shared with HubSpot to help us understand how the Service is used and improve the user experience. See HubSpot's Privacy Policy.
- Crew/company features: If you are part of a company crew, your license status and CE progress are visible to your company administrator.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on a secured virtual private server. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. All connections to the Service are encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your CE hour data
- Opt out of non-essential email communications

7. Cookies
The Service uses a session cookie for authentication. We also use HubSpot, which sets analytics cookies to track page views and sessions. HubSpot's cookie banner allows you to manage your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
8. Public Data
The Service incorporates publicly available contractor license data from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, sourced via data.wa.gov. This data is public record and is used to provide license lookup and verification features.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
