Terms of Service
Effective date: March 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LicenseGuard ("the Service"), operated by LicenseGuard ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
LicenseGuard is a license compliance tracking tool for Washington State electricians. The Service helps users track Continuing Education (CE) hours, monitor license status, and receive renewal reminders. We integrate with publicly available Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) data to provide license verification.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account with accurate, current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
The Service offers both free individual accounts and paid company/crew subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate displayed at checkout. All payments are processed through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
Free trials, when offered, convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless canceled. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service by automated means
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without written consent
6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
License status, CE hour tracking, and renewal reminders provided by the Service are for informational purposes only. While we sync with official WA L&I data sources, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. You are solely responsible for verifying your license status directly with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.
LicenseGuard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LicenseGuard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your data after a reasonable retention period.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
